Case Study - Woodford Green and Essex Ladies Athletic Club (2004)

Site Ashton Playing Fields, Woodford Bridge, Essex
Client Woodford Green and Essex Ladies Athletic Club
Objective To provide, within a limited financial budget, an indoor training arena for winter/bad weather training. The design needed to facilitate sprints, hurdles, high jump, pole vault and all throwing events.
Timescale The new building had to be completed prior to the start of replacing the existing 6 lane outdoor track with a new 8 lane track, early 2005.
Choice of Construction As we had a very restrictive budget a “Relocatable” building provided the best value for money as well as being a “fast track” construction process.
Overall Success of the Project The building has provided the much needed indoor training facility with the added benefit of a translucent roof covering which reduces the need to use lighting during daylight hours.
Client Endorsement “It was essential we only progressed our project with a solution that was affordable. Useful Structures provided all the technical and financial input enabling us to achieve a very successful scheme, within time and budget”. Ted Wilsher Project Manager - Woodford Green Athletics and Essex Ladies Club
